VIENNA, WV (August 8, 2007)- Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team will travel to Union, KY this weekend to compete in the 25th annual North/South 100 at Florence Speedway. The 100-lap feature event will pay $50,000 to the winner of this prestigious crown jewel event in dirt late model racing. Steve and the team will travel to Florence Speedway on Friday August 10th to enter qualifications for the 25th annual North/South 100. Then on Saturday August 11th Steve will attempt to earn a starting position for the 100-lap feature event through the heat races and B-mains.

In 2004 and 2006 Steve was able to win this event and earned the title The North/South 100 Champion. Steve considers both wins in this prestigious event two of the biggest wins in his racing career. "To win a crown jewel event that pays $50,000 to win just once is a huge accomplishment for any driver's career.
