VIENNA, WV (April 26, 2007)- Steve Shaver and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team  sponsored by Ludicrous Energy Drink competed in the Colossal 100 at Lowes Dirt track in Concord, NC over the weekend. The WoO sanctioned event paid $50,000 to the winner of the 100-lap feature event. Steve would qualify 41st quick out of the 92 cars entered. Shaver would go onto finish 5th in the first heat race three positions out of the feature transfers. Then on Saturday after making some chassis setup changes Steve would finish a strong second in the first B-main to earn the 25th starting position for the 36 car field.

Shaver would use the high side and the cushion through most of the race to advance into the top ten at the halfway point by lap 50 of the scheduled 100 laps. Steve continued his march through the field and finished a strong 7th place at the checkers advancing eighteen positions during the 100-lap feature event. "We had a really good car for the feature tonight. The track was the best I've ever seen it and really was racy. The Lowe's staff did an awesome job preparing the track and giving the fans a great event this weekend to watch. It was a lot of fun passing that many cars and I wish I would have started closer to the front and maybe got a top three finish instead of a 7th. All in all it was a good event and we're pleased to get a top ten finish after starting in the B-main", stated Steve.

Steve and the team will travel to Hilltop Speedway in Millersburg, Ohio on Friday April 27th for a 50-lap $5,000 to win event sanctioned by the new Independent Racing Series (IRS). From there Steve will head to Hagerstown Speedway on Saturday April 28th for a 50-lap $10,000 to win feature event sanctioned by the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series.
