Vienna, WV (November 10, 2006)- Steve Shaver driving the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing, Ludicrous Energy Drink, Drywall Systems Inc, WACO Oil & Gas, Sunoco Race Fuels Rocket Chassis picked up a $5,000 victory at the Allegany County Speedway last Friday at the MACS Series sanctioned event. Steve started off the event setting second fast time out of 52 cars entered. Shaver would finish 6th in the dash to earn a 6th place starting position for the 44-lap $5,000 to win feature event. Steve would be steadily moving to the front in the early stages of the feature event. On lap 29 Shaver known as “Showtime” put on a show as he passed Mike Balzano for the lead. Shaver would continue to lead the remainder of the event and held off Steve Casebolt, Mike Balzano, Donnie Moran and Jason Covert to take his first career win on the MACS series. Despite below freezing temperatures at the Cumberland MD race track Shaver was excited to get the first win for his new sponsor Ludicrous Energy Drink. “This is a great win for Shaver Motorsports and Cosgrove Racing Team. To get a win on our last race weekend of the 2006 season and for Ludicrous Energy Drink is just an awesome deal! I really want to thank all the people at Ludicrous Energy Drink for their support. We hope to put Ludicrous Energy Drink in the winners circle many times in 2007 and were excited to be a part of the promotions we have working for next year”, stated Steve. On Saturdays portion of the Big Kahuna VI at the same track, Steve and the Shaver Motorsports/Cosgrove Racing Team would set fast time in qualifying out of 38 cars entered. Shaver would finish second in the dash and started on the outside front row for the 44-lap $5,000 to win feature. Shaver would ride in 3rd in the early stages of the race before developing a bad vibration that would cause Steve to retire early from the event and finished a disappointing 20th. “We had a good car on Saturday and felt like we had a real good chance to win both events but something in the rearend was causing a bad vibration and I had to pull off. We has a pretty decent year in 2006 winning the North/South 100 was really a big win for us and then having Ludicrous Energy Drink come on board late this year was huge for our team as well. We are very excited about 07 and we’ll have some news about our program and some of the neat promotions we’ll be involved in with Ludicrous energy drink in 2007. I want to personally thank everyone that has supported our team in 2006 and all our fans that have been great all year”, stated Steve from his home in West Virginia.
